LONG FURLONG COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION

The Long Furlong Community Association (LFCA) was formed in 1986 by a group on local people living on the estate. Each member is a volunteer offering their time to our local community. The group is responsible for the centres interior decor, finances, bookings, cleaning staff, alarm system, insurance and hosts several community activities throughout the year. The committee holds its Annual General Meeting after April of each year where a new committee is nominated.  LFCA is always looking to recruit new members, as many hands make light work!  If you think you would be interested in joining us, we’d be happy to meet you.  No matter what level of commitment you could offer, be it monthly at meetings & one hall duty a month, or annually helping at an event, your contribution would be invaluable.  We are a very friendly group of local people, so please come to one of our committee meetings to find out more.

Committee Meetings- General meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 8:15pm in the Badger hall. Meetings run for approximately 1 hour and we welcome any local resident who wishes to join us!  

Welcome Packs- The LFCA has assembled a ‘WELCOME PACK’ for new members to our community. It has lots of local information to help our new friends find their feet in Abingdon. If you know someone who is new or you yourself have just moved to the area request a copy of the Welcome Pack, FREE of charge, by contacting Lisa Email: lbunyard@hotmail.com

Link Newsletter- LFCA distribute a quarterly newsletter to all houses on the estate. That’s over 1200 homes! The newsletter is called the LONG FURLONG LINK. It has information on events being held in the centre, news & advertisements. View the current Long Furlong Link News letter here.
